Liveclicker is pleased to announce our first foray into YouTube Channel development: Canadian Tire’s YouTube Channel.
Canadian Tire came to us with the idea of bringing their channel design to life. Their vision, like most companies with a dedicated YouTube Channel was to:
- Strengthen their branding on YouTube
- Create a more interactive experience
- Stand out from other YouTube pages
- House all of their videos in one, uniform place on YouTube
Their design featured a revolving carousel of videos that the user could scroll through, similar to an old jukebox record collection. When the the user found the video they were seeking and clicked “play”, the video would feature more prominently along with a product description, customer rating, share functionality and a clear path back to Canadian Tire’s product pages.
The challenges in bringing this design to light included incorporating custom analytics tagging (through Omniture) in concert with YouTube’s own analytic structure. There was also a big need to match the YouTube user experience as closely as possible with the onsite experience of CanadianTire.ca.
Working tirelessly with Canadian Tire’s design goals in mind, we at Liveclicker were able to help them realize their vision and deliver the elegant, minimalist feel they wanted.
